Hello!

Welcome! My name is Jason (He/Him) and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) serving adults and young adults (18+) who live in Washington and New York state, as well as English speaking expats abroad*. I offer virtual sessions from the comfort of your home or any other space you choose.

I specialize in addressing relationship issues including family, peer, and romantic conflicts, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and childhood trauma. I have worked with many university students as a former academic advisor and career counselor, and understand the stressors related to higher education and post-graduate expectations.

There are many details and sensitivities that can be overlooked by society at large - including intergenerational pressures, systemic and institutional oppression, as well as intersectional identities and tensions. Understanding these nuances, I work with majority Black, queer, and/or people of color. I strive to be open, respectful, and empathic with all peoples regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, class, gender identities, abilities, religion, sexual orientations, and relationship and political beliefs.

Other areas of expertise include, but are not limited to:

  • Racial and Cultural Identity

  • Self-esteem Issues

  • Grief & Loss

  • Addiction Recovery

  • Anger Management

  • Career/Existential Fulfillment

Philosophy & Approach

I believe a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust and connection is essential for effective therapy. I strive to create a friendly, non-judgmental, and empathetic environment where we can work collaboratively.

While my foundation is long-term and relationally centered, I tailor my approach to your individual needs and goals, drawing on CBT and DBT techniques as needed to address short-term challenges.
